Geoscience Undergrad Core Courses

Most of the 200-level classes have pre-requisites of introductory courses such as GEOL103/105 or BIO107. See course catalog for more details.

200-level course work

All of the following courses are required for the Integrative Geosciences Major (16 cr total):

GEOL250 - Earth History and Global Change (3cr)
GEOL251 - Earth Surface Processes (3cr)
GEOL252 - Earth Structure (3cr)
GEOL253 - Earth Materials (4cr)
GEOL290W - Geoscience and Society (capstone course to be taken last semester of study - 3cr)

Choose one course from the following group (3 or 4cr):

GEOL228 - Applied Geophysics for Geologists and Engineers (3cr)
GEOL229 - Engineerign and Environmental Geology (3cr)
GEOL234 - Introduction to Ground-Water Hydrology (4cr)

Choose one course from the following group (3 or 4cr):

GEOG246 - Introduction to GIS (4cr)
NRME219 - Introduction to Geomatics (4cr)
NRME277 - Natural Resource Applications of GIS (3cr)

Total credits: 22 to 24
