Geoscience Programs at UConn

UConn offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in geosciences. Click on the left side bar or links below for information on each of these programs.

Undergraduate Program:

Through the individualized major program, undergraduates can choose to study one of three structured 'tracks' in the geosciences: Geobiology , Earth Surface Processes , and Physics of the Earth . Undergraduate students interested in majoring in Geosciences, must do so through the Individualized Major Program at this time. Find out more about this process by clicking on their link. Graduate Program:

The mission of the geosciences graduate program at UConn is to offer transdisciplinary programs of instruction and research that advance understanding of the interaction of biological, chemical, geological, and physical processes, including feedback mechanisms, at all spatial and temporal scales. It centers around the processes that have shaped the Earth through geologic time, continue to shape the environment today, and which provide the basis for understanding the present and future impact of human activity on the planet.
